It might not have any good shops, or… anything, but
when people speak poorly of it, I internally defend it.
I kind of enjoy the atmosphere of Portage Place. People mill
about, but no one seems to be there for shopping.
I like the big-boned security guards in bulletproof
vests.
I like the 80’s style skywalk that keeps me warm, and brings
me to the library.
When I was a child, I'd walk around the mall with my grandma
at Christmas time. It was decorated with big bows and white lights. I thought
it was a beautiful, especially the oversized clock.
I liked the water fountain that shot water almost to the
roof. I wish it still did that.
Years later, while saving up for school, I worked two jobs.
One of them was at the Matador, a restaurant inside Portage Place owned by a
lovely Korean family.
I like my beautiful
coworker Sunwoo, who I miss. I like Jackson, Soo, and Yeung.
I like attractive businessmen, and I like friendly drunk
people at 10:00 a.m.
I like waiting in the warm mall for a bus, and getting a
latte.
I think I like Portage Place.
